Tesla Model X: Closeout Panel - Door - Rear - LH (Remove and Install)

Removal

1. Remove the rear door trim panel (refer to procedure).
2. Disconnect 12V power (refer to procedure).
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors (x3) that are secured to the rear of the closeout panel.

    

4. Release the push clip that secures each of the connectors to the closeout panel.

    

5. Ensure that the first responder loop has been disconnected for at least 2 minutes.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the front of the curtain air bag.

   Warning: To avoid personal injury, observe all relevant safety precautions before removing or testing any SRS components.

   Warning: To avoid personal injury, eye protection must be worn when performing this operation.

    

7. Remove the screws (x10) that secure the closeout panel to the door (torque 1.8 Nm).

    

8. Remove the screws (x3) that secure the closeout panel to the window motor (torque 1.8 Nm).

    

9. Release the rear door manual release cable from the closeout panel.
10. Move the closeout panel out of the working area.

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following: Ensure that the door manual release cable is between the regulator and the door skin.
