Tesla Model X 2015-2024 Service Manual / Exterior Fittings / Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Warning: "Jack mode" must be activated on vehicles with air suspension before lifting the vehicle. Failure to do this might lead to suspension damage and could cause serious personal injury.

Note: Vehicles with air suspension might need the suspension to be set to "High" or "Very High" to allow the vehicle to be positioned and supported correctly on a vehicle lift.

Removal

Remove the front wheel (refer to procedure).
Remove the push clips (x14) that secure the wheel arch liner.
Remove the nuts (x2) that secure the wheel arch liner to the studs on the chassis (torque 6 Nm).
Remove the front wheel arch liner.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.

Traction Control

How It Works The traction control system constantly monitors the speed of the front and rear wheels. If Model X experiences a loss of traction, the system minimizes wheel spin by controlling brake pressure and motor power. By default, the traction control system is on. Under normal conditions,

Remove Remove the front LH wheel (refer to procedure). Release the rearmost push clips (x7) that secure the wheel arch liner. Remove the rear nut that secures the wheel arch liner to the stud on the chassis (torque 6 Nm).
