Tesla Model X: EXV Valve (Remove and Replace)

Removal

  1. Remove the condenser to chiller high/low pressure pipes (refer to procedure).
  2. Remove the bolts (x2) that secure the EXV valve to the battery chiller (torque 6 Nm).

  3. Lift the EXV valve off of the battery chiller and disconnect the 12V connector.

  4. Remove the EXV valve from the vehicle.
Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

Note: Inspect the O-rings. Replace as necessary.

Caution: Lubricate new O-rings with clean refrigerant oil.
