Tesla Model X: Seat Belt Assembly - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace)

Removal

1. Disconnect 12V power (refer to procedure).
2. Use a trim tool to carefully release the anchor bolt cap from the inboard upper pre-tensioner cover.

   

3. Remove the bolt that secures the seat belt to the pre-tensioner (torque 9 Nm).

   

4. Remove the inboard upper pre-tensioner cover.
5. Carefully release the seat belt assembly from the upper pre-tensioner cover.

   

6. Wrap the seat belt connector with protective tape to prevent it from damaging any of the interior.

   

7. Remove the upper B-pillar trim panel (refer to procedure).
8. Release the locking tabs (x2) on top of the tensioner to disconnect the harnesses.

   

9. Disconnect the seat belt reel connector and position the harness aside.
10. Remove the bolt that secures the seat belt reel to the body (torque 40 Nm).
11. Remove the screws (x2) that secure the seatbelt webbing guide to the B-pillar (torque 2.4 Nm).

    

12. Remove the nut that secures the upper seat belt mount to the body of the vehicle (torque 25 Nm).

    

13. Remove the seatbelt assembly from the vehicle.
