Tesla Model X: Trim - Touch Screen Surround (Remove and Replace)

Special tool required for this procedure:

1. Remove the MCU/touch screen (refer to procedure).
2. Gently place the MCU/touch screen on the foam ESD container with the touchscreen facing down.
3. Release the Bluetooth antenna from the cable tie. If necessary, cut the cable tie. Note: Components have been removed in this graphic to aid clarity.

    

4. Remove the screws (x6) that secure the touch screen surround to the MCU/touch screen (torque 4 Nm).

    

5. Lift the MCU and remove the touch screen surround.

    

6. Gently place the MCU back down on the foam ESD container with the touchscreen facing down.
7. Remove the screws (x2) that secure the hazard warning switch to the touch screen surround (1 Nm). Remove the hazard warning switch from the touch screen surround.

   Note: Components have been removed in this graphic to aid clarity.

    

8. Remove the screws (x2) that secure the glove box switch to the touch screen surround (1 Nm). Remove the glove box switch from the touch screen surround.

   Note: Components have been removed in this graphic to aid clarity.

    

1. Transfer both switches to the new touch screen surround.
2. If necessary, replace the cable tie that secures the Bluetooth antenna. Remove any excess tie.
