  3. Cut the adhesive tape that secures the arm of the carrier to the door panel:
    1. Route the square wire between the carrier and the door panel.
    2. Insert the wire into the other handle of the wire cutting tool.
    3. Use the cutting tool to cut the adhesive tape that secures the arm of the carrier to the door panel. Caution: Ensure that the wire is cutting through the adhesive tape, not the carrier.
  4. Repeat the previous step on the other 2 arms of the carrier.
  5. Remove the carrier.
Installation
  1. Attach the 22 mm tip to the force gauge.
  2. Use a plastic scraper to clean the excess adhesive tape from the 3 mounting areas on the door panel.
  3. Attach the bristle disc to a drill. Use the bristle disc to clean the 3 mounting areas on the door panel. Caution: Only use a drill with the specified bristle disc. Do not use a grinder to clean the mounting areas. Caution: Do not remove the e-coat from the door panel.
  4. Use an infrared thermometer to check the temperature of the door panel. If necessary, use the heat gun to heat the door panel to at least 25 degrees C (77 degrees F). Caution: Do not continue this procedure unless the door panel is at least 25 degrees C (77 degrees F).
  5. Use alcohol wipes to clean the 3 mounting areas on the door panel. Ensure that the mounting areas are clean and dry before continuing.
  6. Apply adhesion promotor to the 3 mounting areas on the door panel. Allow the adhesion promotor to dry before continuing.
  7. Install the new carrier.
  8. Use the force gauge to apply a force of 70 N to the center of the carrier for at least 10 seconds.
  9. Reinstall the components that were removed for access.
