Tesla Model X: Trailer Hitch (Remove and Replace)

Removal

1. Remove the rear fascia (refer to procedure).
2. Disconnect the trailer harness electrical connector.
3. Remove the nuts (x8) that secure the trailer hitch to the studs on the body (torque 65 Nm).

    

4. Remove the trailer hitch from the vehicle.

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following: Use cable ties to secure the vehicle side of the trailer harness to the tow hitch. Remove excess tie.
