Tesla Model X: Window Motor/Regulator Assembly - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Removal

1. Remove the front door glass (refer to procedure).
2. Remove the front nuts (x2) that secure the regulator to the door (torque 10 Nm).

    

3. Remove the rear nuts (x2) that secure the regulator to the door (torque 10 Nm).

    

4. Disconnect the harness from the top of the regulator motor.
5. Remove the screws (x3) that secure the window motor (torque 1.8 Nm).
6. Push the regulator outboard so that the studs no longer protrude through the door shell.
7. Push both regulator beams together and remove the regulator from the door.

    

8. Measure the distance from the tip of the rear upper stud to the base. Note: This value is used when installing the new regulator.

    

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

Use a 3 mm hex key to adjust the distance between the tip of the rear upper stud and the base of the regulator until it matches the value from step 7 of the "Removal" section of this procedure.
